Mookambika Devi Temple of Kollur. Kollur in Udupi, Karnataka state where Goddess Shakti is worshiped. Goddess Mookambike is worshiped as the Shakti deity.
The pure and holy water flowing under this hill is bathed by devotees, which is considered very sacred. The Mookambika Devi Temple is dedicated to Goddess Parvati.
This holy place is known as “Sri Ksotram” is one of the seven vows of salvation in the creation of Parashurama. The Mookambik temple is famous as an Adi Shakti temple, as Mahakali, Maha Lakshmi, and Maha Saraswati Trio Deviyo, Adi Shakti can only be seen here only in India.
According to the scriptures, the Mookambika Devi Temple was founded by Shankaracharya. Adi Shankaracharya had installed the idol of the Goddess on “Srichakra Yantra”.
There is “Nirmalya Puja” every day at 5 in the morning and during that the devotees get an opportunity to see the Swayambhu Lingam. Trikala puja is performed every day in the temple.
Lakhs of devotees from different states of India visit this temple. Every Tuesday, Friday, and in the month of Shravan or on the Maul Nakshatra (which is the birthday of Sri Devi) of the month of Phalgun, a large crowd of devotees gathers here.
Today Kollur has become an important pilgrimage site due to the Mookambika temple. This place is very sacred and devotees from within and outside the country visit this place for pilgrimage. Tapasya and other religious pujas by the devotees continue here.
There are good lodges/hotels for the devotees coming to the temple to stay and rest. The devotees can rest easy and have a glimpse of the Mother Goddess.
