Marshall Hall or Durbar Hall in this palace was built in 1879 by Captain Marshall. The Akhand Chandi Palace, surrounded by stately gardens and fancy fountains, was sold by the royal family of Chamba to the Himachal Pradesh government in 1958, now known for a government college and district library. Situated at an altitude of about 1,000 meters above sea level, this historic palace is one of the finest examples of the country’s rich heritage and vibrant history.
